Our fees depend on the complexity of the case. That is one reason why we offer free consultations to prospective clients. It is important for us to try to understand the likely issues in your case to determine how much work we will need to do on your case. Our fees are for the services of our attorneys and do not include court costs, investigators, stenographers, etc.

Some ballpark numbers for fees are listed below. They are not "standard" prices, because there is no such thing as a "standard" case. It is the practice of our office to charge flat fees in criminal cases. It gives clients security in knowing how much it will cost to hire an attorney. Our flat fees include representation through the county court level but do not include appeals, which must be negotiated separately. Probation violations are handled separately from the original disposition of the case.

  • Basic DUI case for ARD - $850.00
  • Basic DUI case for a negotiated plea - $1,250.00
  • Non-DUI ARD case - $850.00
  • Non-DUI criminal case -- varies (a misdemeanor theft charge will cost significantly less than a felony drug case or an aggravated assault case, for instance).

These rates are fairly standard within the York County, PA legal market, though nobody sets prices. Some attorneys may charge a little more, some may charge a little less.

DUI cases that involve other offenses (drugs, fleeing and eluding, etc.) or accidents may cost more. Second, third, and higher repeat DUI offenses will be quoted on a case-by-case basis because they are more complex and the stakes are significantly higher in terms of sentencing. Individuals with prior record scores of 2 or higher may be subject to higher fees for the same reason. Cases outside of York County will be quoted at somewhat higher rates due to the additional time and cost of travel to other jurisdictions.

The ultimate question in any case is not truly one of fees. It is whether you are comfortable that the attorney you hire is someone that you can work with during your case. That is the primary reason why we think that a free consultation is good for both the attorney and the client, and it is why we offer free initial consultations.
