In York County, your have thirty days from the date of arraignment to apply for admission into the ARD program. You should not wait that long. As a practice, it is a good idea to file a waiver of arraignment and an ARD application as soon as possible without waiting till the last minute. In other counties, the rules with respect to ARD admission are different. In most counties, you need to apply well before arraignment.
If you miss the ARD deadline, you may not be able to get into ARD, even if you are otherwise eligible. Please see our ARD section for more information about ARD. That section will deal with DUI issues, but it also contains information relevant to non-DUI ARD cases. To discuss whether ARD is right for you, please call attorney Joseph N. Gothie, Esq., at (717) 848-8455 for a free, no-risk consultation. |
